Ireland: Facts, Costs, Packlist

Driving a car in Ireland

Driving on the other side of the street may seem strange at first, but you will get used to it faster than you think. And if you drive a rental car, there will be stickers in the car remembering you to drive on the left anyway. Besides that, driving in Ireland is a great experience. As soon as you have left Dublin, you will find it almost relaxing. There is no honking and jostling. If you drive slower than allowed – as streets can sometimes be quite narrow – that´s no problem too. No one will be mad with you. It seems drivers in Ireland are just as friendly as people are there in general.

The last hours of our Roadtrip plus Exploring Dublin Part 2

St. Fin Barre´s Cathedral
As promised, here comes the second part of my travelogue on Ireland. For all those who don't know the first one yet, you can find it here.

We would have liked to have had a cup of coffee somewhere at the Ring of Kerry, but somehow everything looked too crowded. So, we drove on to Cork, where we stopped by to visit the St. Fin Barre´s Cathedral and then took a break at The Hunted Hog in Castlemartyr, which has an unexpectedly large guest garden. And I can recommend eating there as well, cause it tasted really great.
Our Room at the Copper Coast B&B
Strengthened we made our way from there to the Copper Coast B&B. At first sight, I would have loved to flee from there because from the outside it looks a bit run-down, but after we entered the house and got to know the owner, we were reassured. Even if the facade of this pension does not look particularly lovely, inside everything is nicely prepared and maintained.
