Driving a car in Ireland
Driving on the other side of the street may seem strange at first, but you will get used to it faster than you think. And if you drive a rental car, there will be stickers in the car remembering you to drive on the left anyway. Besides that, driving in Ireland is a great experience. As soon as you have left Dublin, you will find it almost relaxing. There is no honking and jostling. If you drive slower than allowed – as streets can sometimes be quite narrow – that´s no problem too. No one will be mad with you. It seems drivers in Ireland are just as friendly as people are there in general.
The Costs of our Trip
My boyfriend and I both don´t want to overspend when we travel. But we don´t want to save up at all costs either. And when it comes to accommodations, I tend to be a little princess, wanting to have all the comfort I am used to from home. This makes me the one to find good deals for us, which only works by booking every part of it on its own. And this Trip was very cheap compared to what you would pay for something similar if you book a package vacation. Meaning that we only spent € 684,95 per person for the whole trip (6 days). And this includes everything we spent, like tolls, parking at the airport at home, snacks, entry fees, etc.
And here is a little breakdown of our expanses in category’s:

Travel Gear
Do yourself a favor and pack a good rain jacket and at least a second pair of shoes for your vacation in Ireland as it is as rainy as said. Even though we didn´t do this and we had a lot of luck with the weather, this is not very likely.
What you definitely will need is a travel adapter as you will want to charge your phone, camera, etc. I can recommend this one. It´s cheap, and you can buy it in stacks of 2, 3 or 5 pieces depending on your personal needs.

If you are wondering now “What about the beauty products?”. That’s easy to explain. I didn´t take any of them with me, neither did my boyfriend. As we only travel with cabin luggage, we don´t take these things with us. After we had picked up our rental car, we went to a supermarket and bought the things we needed there. We decided to do so, cause both of us don´t get the products we usually use in travel size. By the way, then we mostly buy a product that one can use for hair and body. If you use this together it will almost be empty after a week anyway, so you don´t waste a lot of it.
