Roadtrip through the UK - Aberdeen to Loch Ness

Welcome back to another little story from the UK. If you want to read everything about the trip from the beginning, you best start here.

The Elgin Cathedral
At breakfast at the "Cove Bay Hotel" the next morning, I decided to order some poached eggs and lo and behold, it tasted great. The crowd wasn't intoxicating, but it was at least something that didn't make my stomach rebel, and so we set off again. And this day was really one of the most beautiful of the whole holiday.

The Biblical Garden
Spontaneously we deviated from our route to at least have a look at the Glenfiddich distillery while driving past - unfortunately, the tour would not have fitted in our schedule. And the way there via several side roads was really a beautiful route. And also on the way to the "Elgin Cathedral" we saw some amazing landscapes.

Inverness Old Town Center
And when we finally stood in front of the enormous cathedral, I was really impressed. Even if it is only a ruin, it is still remarkable. And by chance, we found right next to it the public "Biblical Garden" which presented itself in the most beautiful colors.

Loch Ness
Actually, we also wanted to visit "Inverness Castle" on that day, but as we had no chance for a parking place, we only admired it from the outside and took a short walk along the Ness river and enjoyed the beautiful view over the river to the old town of Inverness. But that wasn't enough for one day. Next, we drove on to Loch Ness.

Our room at the "Ach-Na-Sidhe" B&B
I'll tell you right away - I didn't see Nessie, but I did see the beautiful lake itself. Right next to it was a restaurant where we had dinner. Even though it was a bit early at 3:30 pm, as our next hotel would be a bit more secluded, we thought it was the best. And as we quickly noticed after the excellent meal, we were right. From the restaurant, it was only about 10 minutes by car to the hotel but always nice to the top. After all, this part of Scotland already belongs to the Highlands. And around the fabulous "Ach-Na-Sidhe Bed & Breakfast" there was only nature for miles.

The "Ach-Na-Sidhe" B&B
Immediately we were warmly welcomed by Marsaili, the hostess and a little later in the evening she served us coffee and tea in the lounge. We felt so comfortable there that we would have preferred to spend the rest of our vacation there. On foot, we explored the closer environment a little and thereby also some wonderfully pretty vacation photos developed.
